From the superintendent

The Center for Academic Success (CAS) schools are committed to the belief that all children are capable of achieving levels of educational success sufficient to allow them to lead productive, rewarding lives and to acquire the personal characteristics Americans associate with responsible citizenship. To this end, political correctness is not a concern at CAS, because we believe social equality is the bedrock upon which all schools should stand in order to provide a quality education for all students. We have a diverse student population and a diverse instructional staff; both are expected to exhibit behaviors long associated with American values, to include: industriousness, self discipline, honesty, courtesy, and loyalty. Students will reach appropriate educational goals through their own industry and effort and through a rigorous academic learning climate that responds to students’ academic and developmental needs. All schools will adhere to a challenging standards-based curriculum, delivered by a skilled, professional instructional staff and supplemented with state-of-the-art technology in a safe and secure environment.

We believe English literacy, mathematics, science, and history, are vital for a strong academic foundation, and are essential for success in higher education and in the workplace. Coupled with this academic emphasis, CAS students will be expected to demonstrate personal responsibility, accountability, and the characteristics associated with responsible citizenship in order that they may become productive and contributing members of our society.

CAS schools are located in the cities of Douglas and Sierra Vista, in the southern part of Cochise County, the extreme southeast county in the great state of Arizona. Both communities demonstrate their strong feelings of patriotism and love of country. CAS employees are expected to reinforce these feelings in our school environments. We want our students to understand how fortunate they are to live in this great country; to be unapologetically proud of our country; to understand and exhibit the values upon which this great country was founded; and to appreciate the dedicated service performed by those who wear our nation’s uniforms.
